Valerie Baadh Garrett is a movement coach, movement educator, consultant, and lecturer. A life-long dancer, she received a BFA in Dance from California Institute of the Arts, in the pioneer class of the new Institute. An artistic career was followed by an educational one, and now her work is focused on movement for health and healing for all ages from young children through her work with the elderly and their communities with Agile Aging. Valerie is the Lead Teacher for Movement Education for Rudolf Steiner College in Fair Oaks (Sacramento), CA, and is an associate of the Fourfold Healing Clinic of Dr. Tom Cowan’s in San Francisco. A lovely movement studio with a terrific view, The Grand View Studio, hosts private appointments and small workshops in the city.

Trained by Jaimen McMillan and mentored by Maureen Curran, Valerie Baadh was the Movement Education instructor at San Francisco Waldorf School from 1990 through 2006. She helped develop and taught a comprehensive developmental movement program for grades one through twelve and led workshops for parents, teachers and the community. Since 2007 she has been a performing member of the nation’s foremost vintage ballroom ensemble, The Academy of Danse Libre, and at age 58, is its eldest dancer.
